The Accu-Scan Satellite Scanning System is a powerful tool for selling orthotics and providing biomechanical solutions to your patients. The Accu-Scan uses Varifit’s unique casting box to obtain a true 3D image of the foot. A cast is obtained in the same manner as if using a foam box.The casting box consists of over 700 data points (not pressure points),with pins that are held in position by a friction system that has been calibrated to 1.6 psi. The cast is obtained with the patient in a seated position with the foot held in a corrected position.
The casting box is then placed in the Accu-Scan where the 3D foot model is instantly scanned into a 3 dimensional digital image. Any modifications or needed corrections are done directly by the medical professional in the software and then digitally transmitted to our production facility. Because our casting, software and manufacturing systems are completely integrated, there is no need for subjective cast corrections to be made by a lab technician. Our labs fabricate the orthotics exactly as prescribed by the doctor and are shipped within 5 business days.
